A fourth trailer for The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2, which previews its upcoming second cour, has been released.
Included in the trailer are scenes of battle against Fabio Zaccheroni, anguished shots of Philomela Sergeant, and a preview of the new JUNNA opening song “Nemurasareta Lineage.”
The new cour of The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 will premiere on October 5. The first cour, which saw the start of Chise’s life at the College, aired from April to June with 12 episodes, with Crunchyroll and Bilibili streaming the show overseas. The anime is based on the Mag Garden-published fantasy manga by Kore Yamazaki, which began serialization in 2013 and has 19 tankoubon volumes as of March 2023.
Seven Seas Entertainment describes the manga as:
Hatori Chise has lived a life full of neglect and abuse, devoid of anything resembling love. Far from the warmth of family, she has had her share of troubles and pitfalls. Just when all hope seems lost, a fateful encounter awaits her. When a man with the head of a beast, wielding strange powers, obtains her through a slave auction, Chise’s life will never be the same again.
The man is a “magus,” a sorcerer of great power, who decides to free Chise from the bonds of captivity. The magus then makes a bold statement: Chise will become his apprentice–and his bride!
