The production team for A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life has revealed a new key visual and PV trailer for the upcoming TV anime. The series is scheduled to premiere sometime this October 2023.
The theme song artists were also revealed, with rock band saji performing the opening theme while voice actress Miho Okasaki is singing the ending theme.
In addition, the voice cast members joining the anime series includes Shiori Izawa as Ryu-chan, Chitose Morinaga as Pikasha, Ayaka Asai as Nora, Tarou Kiuchi as Reiji, Yuusuke Shirai as Kazamine, and Naomi Oozora as Rona.
They join a main cast that features Kaito Ishikawa as Earth, Daisuke Namikawa as Daichi Tanaka (Earth’s real-world identity), Reina Ueda as Fairytine, Tasuku Hatanaka as Zwei, and Miho Okasaki as Millie.
Yuuichi Nakazawa (Dead Mount Death Play Episode 4 director) is directing the anime with Touko Machida (The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World) as series screenwriter and Yuuko Watanabe and Yuuko Ooba (I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss co-main designer) as main character designers. MAHO FILM is in charge of the animation production for the series.
A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life is based on the light novel series written by Shiina Howahowa and illustrated by Yamada. It was first published by AlphaPolis on February 10, 2014 after originating as a web novel series in January 2013. The series was inspired by a now-defunct browser game titled One More Free Life Online. Twenty-seven volumes have been released as of February 2023.
A manga adaptation by Shuuya Rikudou was released in May 2014. A total of 10 tankoubon volumes have been released as of February 2023.
