A new key visual has been revealed for the second season of Edens Zero, highlighting the series’ “Aoi Cosmos Arc.” The visual showcases the protagonist Shiki Granbell, Ziggy, Elsie Crimson, Poseidon Nero, Poseidon Shura, and Justice. The second season first premiered on April 2, 2023.
The returning production staff from the first season includes Shinji Ishihira as chief director, Mitsutaka Hirota as series screenwriter, Yurika Sako as character designer, and Shunya Kikuchi as sub-character designer. Toshinori Watanabe (Teppen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!: Laughing ’til You Cry) replaced the late Yuuji Suzuki as director. J.C.Staff is handling the animation production for the series.

The main voice cast includes Takuma Terashima as Shiki Granbell, Mikako Komatsu as Rebecca Bluegarden, Rie Kugimiya as Happy, Hiromichi Tezuka as Weisz, Shiori Izawa as Pino, Shiki Aoki as Homura, Taiten Kusunoki as Drakken, and Honoka Inoue as Xiaomei. New cast members for season two include Takaya Hashi as Nero, Kenichi Suzumura as Shura, and Kazuhiko Inoue as Xenolith.
The anime is based on the manga by Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima, which was first launched in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine on June 27, 2018. Twenty-seven tankoubon volumes have been released as of July 2023.
The first season premiered in Japan in April 2021. Netflix released the first 12 episodes internationally in August 2021 and the remaining 13 episodes later that November.

At Granbell Kingdom, an abandoned amusement park, Shiki has lived his entire life among machines. But one day, Rebecca and her cat companion Happy appear at the park’s front gates. Little do these newcomers know that this is the first human contact Granbell has had in a hundred years! As Shiki stumbles his way into making new friends, his former neighbors stir at an opportunity for a robo-rebellion … And when his old homeland becomes too dangerous, Shiki must join Rebecca and Happy on their spaceship and escape into the boundless cosmos.
