The production team for the Dropkick on My Devil! anime series announced that their previously announced TV anime spinoff will premiere in Japan on December 26, 2023.

The spinoff is titled Jashin-chan Dropkick!! Seikimatsu-hen (translated into English as Dropkick on My Devil! Apocalypse Arc) and is different from the crowdfunded fourth season of the anime.

Makaria is animating the spinoff episode instead of NOMAD, who animated the series’ three previous seasons. It is a collaboration with the town of Takamori in Kumamoto Prefecture. The anime previously collaborated with cities such as Chitose, Obihiro, Kushiro, Furano, and Minamishibara.

Seikimatsu-hen draws a lot of inspiration from Fist of the North Star. The anime follows Jashin-chan, who is heading south to Takamoto to defeat Yurine, who has become the tyrannical ruler of a Jinbocho that was destroyed after a meteor strike.

The three previous seasons of Dropkick on My Devil! aired in 2018, 2020, and 2021. It is based on the manga series by Yukiwo, which was first serialized in Flex Comix’s Comic Meteor magazine in April 2012. Twenty-one tankoubon volumes have been published as of May 2023.

Last October, a crowdfunding campaign for new Dropkick on My Devil! OVA episodes was announced, with those episodes intended to form the anime’s fourth season if 12 episodes were funded and produced. The third anime season, Dropkick on My Devil!!! X, also had a crowdfunding campaign, which saw 2,880 backers raising 36,181,238 yen (US$270,000) in total funding.

Hikaru Satou directed the first season of Dropkick on My Devil! and served as chief director on the second season, with Takanori Yano directing the second season. The third season was directed by Satou and Taku Yamada.

Crunchyroll is streaming all three seasons of the anime series and describes the synopsis as:

A devil known by the name “Jashin-chan” is suddenly summoned from Hell into the human realm. The one who summoned her is Hanazono Yurine, a somewhat black-hearted college student living in a run-down apartment in Jinbocho. Though she successfully summoned Jashin-chan into the human realm, she has no idea how to send her back to Hell.

So Yurine and Jashin-chan have no choice but to start living together, but according to Jashin-chan, a summoned devil can return to Hell if the summoner dies. So Jashin-chan’s next action is…
