A trailer has been released for the upcoming A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special anime adaptation. Staff and cast members, as well as opening song details and an October 2023 premiere date, were also revealed.
Taiichi Kawaguchi (Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut assistant director), the president of A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special‘s animation production company Arvo Animation, is directing the TV series. Takamitsu Kouno (She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man) is serving as series composer and scriptwriter while Hiromi Katou (ID-0) is the character designer. The music is composed by Kenta Higashiooji (Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire).
The cast includes:
• Sayumi Suzushiro as Romantica Eru
• Natsumi Fujiwara as Pram Schneider
Takuma Terashima was previously announced as the voice of main character Desir Hermman.
As for the opening theme, FLOW is the performing artist for the song, which is titled “GET BACK.”
A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special is based on the Korean webcomic by Usonan and Wookjakga, which is an adaptation of the web novel written by Usonan. In Japan, the webcomic is serialized on Piccoma with KADOKAWA publishing the physical volumes.
Yen Press publishes volumes of the webcomic in English while Tappytoon and Tapas publish its chapters. Yen Press describes the plot as:
