Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Precure 23~ is a follow-up to Yes! Precure 5 and Yes! Precure 5 GoGo! that was announced as part of the Pretty Cure franchise’s 20th anniversary plans along with a Mahou Tsukai Precure! sequel . Both titles are described as being targeted at grown-up fans. An October Japanese premiere is planned for Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Precure 23~.

Toei Animation is co-producing Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Precure 23~ with Studio Deen. The staff includes:

• Director: Takayuki Hamana (Sorcerous Stabber Orphen -Chaos in Urbanrama-)

• Series composer: Yoshimi Narita (Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie)

• Character designer: Atsuko Nakajima (Komi Can’t Communicate)

• Music composer: Naoki Satou (Eureka: Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution)

Yes! Precure 5 was the fourth Precure title and was also the first Precure anime to feature more than a pair of Pretty Cures (Yes! Precure 5 featured five, while Yes! Precure 5 GoGo! increased the number to six). On the other hand, Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash Star was the third entry in the franchise.

The Pretty Cure franchise began with 2004’s Futari wa Precure (titled Pretty Cure in English). The latest entry is Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure (Hirogaru Sky! Precure), which began airing in Japan on February 5 this year.
