The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime adaptation is taking on the “Hashira Training Arc” next, a new announcement has confirmed.

A visual illustrated by character designer and chief animation director Akira Matsushima, featuring hashiras Giyu Tomioka, Shinobu Kocho, Gyomei Himejima, Sanemi Shinazugawa, and Obani Iguro, and an announcement trailer were released as well.

The “Hashira Training Arc” announcement comes on the heels of the airing of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc‘s final episode in Japan. Swordsmith Village Arc premiered in April and ran for 11 episodes, with the first and final episodes having an extended length.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, which was first serialized in 2016 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and ended in 2020 with 23 tankoubon volumes. Viz Media describes the manga as:

Learning to destroy demons won’t be easy, and Tanjiro barely knows where to start. The surprise appearance of another boy named Giyu, who seems to know what’s going on, might provide some answers—but only if Tanjiro can stop Giyu from killing his sister first!

The first Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba season premiered in 2019 and was followed by Demon Slayer – Kimetsu No Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train in 2020. The TV broadcast version of Mugen Train premiered in October 2021, while Entertainment District Arc ran from December 2021 to February 2022. 

The anime’s staff includes Haruo Sotozaki as director, Kouji Etou as art director, Yuuichi Terao as photography director, and Yuuko Oomae as color designer. ufotable produced the show and is also credited for the script production.

The cast includes Hanae Natsuki as Tanjiro Kamado, Akari Kitou as Nezuko Kamado, Hiro Shimono as Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Inosuke Hashibira.
