Minato Namikaze had been voted as the most popular character in the NARUTOP99 Top 20 Character Poll, which was held from December 18, 2022 to January 31, 2023. The final results were revealed and posted on the poll’s official website.
Namikaze garnered a grand total of 792,257 votes internationally and will receive his own special one-shot manga. Characters rounding up the rest of the top 10 spots include Itachi Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Shisui Uchiha, Kakashi Hatake, Naruto Uzumaki, Sakumo Hatake, Sasuke Uchiha, Madara Uchiha, and Hinata Hyuga.
Naruto franchise creator Masashi Kishimoto offered an excited message after the announcement of the final results.
The website also released its voting data from the polls such as the number of participants who voted for a character daily, comeback rankings, demographics of voter’s age, and region rankings.
The top 20 most popular Naruto characters will be made into figures by Bandai, with Kishimoto drawing special illustrations for each of them. The character poll was first announced at Shueisha’s Jump Festa 2023 event to celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary.
