The Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm fighting game series is returning this year with Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, which is meant to coincide with the Naruto anime series’ 20th anniversary. 

The CyberConnect2-developed 3D fighting game is described as a collection of key moments from the Ultimate Ninja STORM series that also includes an original story. The announcement trailer shows off scenes like Naruto facing Shukaku, Sasuke and Itachi teaming up against Kabuto, the revived Hokage attacking Madara, and Boruto using Rasengan on Momoshiki. 

Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections will also introduce Ashura and Indra Otsutsuki to the series, with the two previewed towards the end of the trailer. The playable roster is described as the largest ever in the series.

The game will be released for PS5, PS4, Switch, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Steam, with a 60 FPS framerate promised for new-gen consoles.

The previous new game in the Ultimate Ninja Storm series was 2016’s Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. 2017 saw the release of the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy, which a collection of HD-remastered versions of the first three (numbered) Ultimate Ninja Storm titles.
