The Tenchi Muyo! franchise is getting a new anime titled Tenchi Muyo! GXP Paradise Shidouhen

Tenchi Muyo! GXP Paradise Shidouhen will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the sci-fi romantic comedy franchise, which began in 1992 with an OVA series titled Tenchi Muyou! Ryououki Dai 2-ki. Tenchi Muyo! GXP, a 26-episode TV anime, was released a decade later in 2002. Tenchi Muyo! GXP featured Seina Yamada, the middle school junior of main franchise protagonist Tenchi Masaki, as the lead character.

According to Comic Natalie, the staff includes Tenchi Muyo! creator Masaki Kajishima as chief director and original character designer and Hideki Shirane (The Duke of Death and His Maid) as series composer and scriptwriter.

The original Tenchi Muyo! GXP was directed by Shinichi Watanabe (Management of Novice Alchemist episode storyboarder) with Atsushi Okuda (Shinobi no Ittoki main animator) as character designer and Yousuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia) as series composer. Horoshi Okawa (Vazzrock The Animation prop designer) and the late Gorou Murata (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato co-design works artist) contributed the mechanical designs. AIC produced the show with Bestack for production assistance.

Amazon describes Tenchi Muyo! GXP as:

Clumsy Seina Yamadas luck is the worst. So what in the world could two gorgeous Galaxy Police officers want with him? When their spaceship lands, Seina’s blasting off into space with the beauties. It appears his luck could be changing for the better!

Prior to Tenchi Muyo! GXP Paradise Shidouhen‘s announcement, the most recent anime in the franchsie was 2014’s Ai Tenchi Muyo!. Aside from anime series and movies, the franchise also includes manga, light novels, and a 2019 stage play.
