Kadokawa has opened pre-orders for a unique Made in Abyss perfume called “Faputa’s Smell.” The perfume is designed to emulate the scent of Faputa’s butt as experienced by Riko in the original manga series.

The “Faputa’s Smell” perfume has been created under the supervision of Made in Abyss‘ creator, Akihito Tsukushi. In his manga, Riko describes the scent of Faputa’s butt as having “the smell of the sun and sweet potatoes.”

The perfume bottle is designed with a curled-up Faputa wrapped in golden foil, as well as a red ribbon inspired by the color of her nails. It also comes packaged in a box adorned with a special illustration of Faputa.

Kadokawa’s online store is currently taking pre-orders for the perfume until October 23, 2022 for 5,500 yen (US$38.00) each.

Perfumes and scents based on anime and manga series are not uncommon. In June 2020, Kadokawa previously released a “Scent of Nanachi” perfume that smelled like the character’s ears. A special card containing a statement by Tsukushi was also included with the perfume.

Sentai Filmworks has licensed Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun for their HIDIVE streaming service. It describes the anime as:

There is no going back for Riko, Reg, and Nanachi. They have passed the point of no return and the surface is forever out of reach. Now, Riko’s only way forward is to the bottom of the Abyss. However, the three friends weren’t the first to enter the unknown; they were only the most recent. Whatever happened to all the other explorers who braved the deepest layers of the Abyss and were never heard from again? The trio are about to find out.

The second season of Made in Abyss has also finished in fifth place on the 10th week of Anime Trending’s Weekly Top Anime charts
